So a few months ago Hattori invited Mail and myself to join him in wormhole space to "make a load of isk" -this caught my attention immediatley! Being a poor pirate and basically living off ransom and loot payouts, I jumped at the chance of making some real isk to buy some nice ships. So after a good few hours of probing our way through wormhole space, we stumbled across a Class 1 unknown space. Whilst we wanted a class 2 or 3, class 1 would do! So the POS was moved in and we started doing a few sites. Plan was to move some mining ships in and do some PI as well. After we had been there for about a week, we decided it was time to pack up and move on to a class 2 or 3 if we could find one. Unfortunatley RL caught up with Mail and Hattori so the plans were put on hold for a few weeks. Then Hattori came back and decided he didnt want to continue subbing 2 accounts after the whole "Incarna -gate" so handed the reins of the corp to me!
So first step was to find someone to join me and first thought was Sarah xCalibre. New to Fla5hy and very willing to learn and also after a bit of isk! He agreed to join me, and also subbed an old dormant account to help out as well. Next step was finding an empty wormhole. Fortunatley Sarah had been scanning the forums for any for sale, and by chance, stumbled across a former TBRA and Python member who was selling an empty class 2 with a low-sec static and a c2 static. PERFECT! Money was exchanged and we were directed to the wormhole.
We moved all our POS modules and ships in ASAP, before the wormhole closed, and went about setting up shop. Now we were set up and ready to run the sites. Have done a few with Sarah, and he's done a few solo and we've made a tasty profit so far! Also, Sarah has just invited a former Flashy, Fo'Urnier, to join us. He left Flashy to try his own hand at wormholing, but his friends left him after a few days so has offered to supply the POS fuel via PI as well as running sites.
So, all in all, its been quite a learning curve, but flying with some great guys in the wormhole has made it much easier! And watch out, I'll be flying (and loosing!) some tasty ships before you
know it!

First-Time FC'ing-DIAF Fleet!
So since my last blog, Pen Island has moved to Ami. Nice system with a few local pirate gangs for us to fight with. Have spent the last few days bringing ships in and setting up safe spots etc, general housekeeping. So decided the other day to organise a roam and offer to FC for the first time!
Chose T1 cruisers as our weapons of choice, fleet members were free to fit them as they wished. Picked cruisers as they are cheap to buy and fit, just in case we lost them! We departed at 8pm (on time!) from Ami.

Mail Lite showed up at the last minute without a cruiser so came along in his Dram, the only ship he had in Ami.
Destination was set for New Eden and we all formed around the Fensi gate and sent Mail off to scout the next system. Nothing in that system so we kept going for a few jumps until we got a message from Mail in Fleet Chat:
[20:32:16] Mail Lite > Having stomache issues, need to run at moments notice so not coming along
Epic lulz on comms, some bashing and a title change were had!
Then sent 8ags off to scout. Couple of jumps ahead, he found a Drake on a gate. We all jumped in and put some damage on it, aware that it was most likely a tarp, we were all aligned out to the sun, ready to warp when the tarp arrived.
Got the Drake into low armor, and lo and behold, his friends from Chain of Chaos show up in 4 BCs. I call everyone to overheat guns and prepare to warp out. Managed to kill off the Drake, but lost Florian and Sarah in the process. Killmail
Once the rest of us got out, we all made safes in the system and hung around to decide what to do next. IRTEHAZN decided he wanted to go to the pub, so offered his Ruppy to Sarah, who took it. Whilst all this was happening, I must have been a little lax on hitting the scan button, and they must have had a fast prober, because I was probed down and before I knew it, I had 2 Canes, a Harbinger and a Drake on top of me! Tried burning away but I went down in a ball of flames!
Managed to get my pod out and headed back to Ami, with 8agpuss taking charge of the fleet.
So all in all, the roam wasnt massively successful, but still had a good laugh.
Planning another next week, watch this space!

Battle Report
Had an interesting fight this evening whilst camping on the Jel gate that was worth a report.
So, Jarek, Piscis, Melk, Tara and I were leisurely camping the Jel gate when our scout reports 2 Drakes landing. So Jarek, as FC, calls us all to the gate and we devise a quick plan whilst the Drakes jump in and de-cloak. Plan was to point the first to de-cloak and get damage on it ASAP, Piscis in his Legion was to hold the second whilst we took down the first.
So the first de-cloaks and we start putting damage on it. After putting a few volleys on to it, we realise that it is well tanked, we also notice that it was pulling away from the gate. So Jarek and I catch it in our fast Cynabals and continue putting damage on it. I put my ECM(faggot) drones on it as well, as I was taking quite a bit of damage from it as I was primaried.
Tara and Melk managed to catch up, and pushed the first Drake into armor and it popped eventually. KM Here
We then had to make our way back to help Piscis out with the second, I shouted in comms to take it down quickly as well, as I was into low-shield. I dropped into armor and managed to burn away and warp off, in 50% armor. If I was webbed, I dont think I would have got out! He popped shortly afterwards as well : KM
GF was offered in local and returned. Had a quick trip back to the gate to pick up the loot and then back to station to rep ships and guns.
All in all, a good fight, and great calls from Jarek, our new CEO and FC.

Noobs Learning Quickly
Had an amusing time this morning and thought it was worth sharing.
Yesterday I was chasing a noob around Alliete in my new shiny Dramiel, he was in a Retriever but managed to warp off when I landed on him salvaging in a belt. He warped to a station so didnt fancy engaging him with gate guns on his side! Chatted in local with him for a bit and he was begging me to let him finish salvaging, I asked him for 20m ISK for a salvaging pass but he declined. He also seemed interested in watching a 1v1 I had offered a rifter pilot in local, on the basis that I wouldnt shoot him. The other pilot declined anyway, so I eventually left system.
So this morning I was flying through Alliete again in my Dramiel and see him again in local and on scan in the Retriever again. Had a quick scan around but he docked and the only thing that was on scan was my corpmate Reno684(blog is linked) in his Jaguar. After a quick chat with Reno in corp on a plan, I suggest to the noob that he comes and watches a 1v1 between Reno and I. He agrees, presumably unaware that we are corpmates. So Reno offers me the 1v1 in local and we both warp to top belt, lock each other up and waited for the noob to arrive. A few seconds later he turns up in his pod (not the Retriever unfortunatley), which Reno and I both locked and pointed. A ransom of 20m was offered but declined so we podded him and a swift lesson was learnt, that you shouldn't trust pirates unless we are offering you a ransom! Killmail here
He wined a bit in local after he came back to system, which filled up my Dram's tank nicely with tears.....

Introduction
Hi all.
Decided after reading a few EvE related blogs to start my own. Hopefully my noob-fail stories and alliance fights are interesting, and might be of use to new players.
About Me
I'm Ollie, 24 from Bournemouth, UK. Unemployed, like a lot of the UK at the moment! So I have plenty of time to play EvE!
EvE Background
Got into EvE about 6 months ago, one of my best mates IRL, Mail Lite (follow his blog HERE), had been playing for about a year at the time and I was interested in getting involved in the game, but for some reason my laptop wouldnt let me play the game. Updated Windows and by chance, whilst showing my friend the problem that I thought I had, the client started up! So quickly got started with my 14 day trial! Set my self up as Ollie Khan, a Mimitar Slave Child and set about missioning to up my SP and ISK. Also set up an alt on the same account called Major Khan1 to try my hand at Mining, but quickly got bored of that, so just used the character as an AFK-miner.
After a couple of months of missioning I was pretty bored! Mail did a couple of Lv4 missions with me which was entertaining for a while, but was much more interested in the PVP'ing that Mail had told me about.
So shortly after Christmas 2010, I submitted an application to join Fla5hy Red, a pirating corp. As Mail was a director, my app was quickly pushed through and I was officially part of the "family".
At the time, the corp was located in Ishomilken, low-sec space and the corp was friendly with The Python Cartel, who Fla5hy regularly roamed and gate camped with. Once I'd said "hi" to a few of the members, I was off gate-camping most evenings in my nano-Cane, gaining a lot of valuable PVP experience. My first kill was a Dominix in Isho.
After about a week a decision had been made by the corp to go on a vacation to Gultraten, so I followed everyone down. Unfortunatley, I didnt really enjoy the time I spent here. As a noob to PVP, I was much more confident in a big group, whether it be gatecamping or roaming, but whilst we were there RL seemed to catch up with everyone and most of the corp took a vacation from EvE. I went on a few solo roams around there, but didnt get any notable kills.
After a couple of weeks in Gultraten we heard that our Python friends had decided to permanently move into Egghelende and a corp decision was made to join them, and ultimately and officially form "The Defenders of Pen Island" Alliance. More about that in my next post........
